And God said, And God Saw
In the creation narration, we see a powerful truth that has been neglected and all we jump about is that God created the world in 6 days.
I want to forward a tremendous truth that I believe will straighten up your hair or curl it. Nothing would have come into existence-however much God thought about it- if He hadn’t said anything. The power to create was there (the holy spirit), but until God gave voice to the word and thought inside Him, nothing was made.
I was studying Gen 1:3 and I got some interesting translation. First in Hebrew, God said two words-LIGHT BE and LIGHT was. In looking at Ibn Ezra’s Genesis and Ramban’s Genesis, I found 2 interesting things;
1-God said the words without any physical labor (effortlessly)
2-He thoughtfully willed.
These two statements have a lot of significance that you can easily neglect. First, He thoughtfully willed that light should be and then said it without physical labor. God said the word without physical labor. A great number of us have especially when exercising our authority over the devil and his actions against us have ended up in physical labor e.g. shouting at the devil, launching spiritual bombs. We then wonder why we are not getting results. The sequence of the matter is THINK -SPEAK EFFORTLESSLY-THEN SEE. So next time you take authority, think about the authority you have, speak in Jesus’ name and then see the manifestation.
All through the bible, God had to say in order to see the manifestation. When satan sinned, God didn’t keep quiet. No, He responded with words. Actually angels can not (not will not) operate unless voice is given to the word of God. Look at the will of God in action (Jesus), when He spoke, power was allowed to operate. The whole Christian walk is about words and so is the world.
What About Man?
Man was created in God’s class of being i.e. as a spirit. Actually He is a speaking spirit. Now if as believers, we are to imitate the father, we must be people who understand that words are significant. Some individuals say that God looks at the inside (the heart) and not the outside and it is true. But can’t you tell that a person has blood in his veins when you see it oozing out. I believe one way God looks at your heart is by looking and listening to the outflow. Out the fullness of the heart, the mouth speaketh.
Even when it comes to worship or praise, God is as concerned about your words as your heart. I mean you can’t come and speak crosswire with the word of God and then say well He sees my heart. He also hears your words. Understand that the bible has everything you need in the worship of God. Don’t just throw words into space. He is an intelligent being and He expects you to think about what you say or even sing. In the court of the King, his word is of uttermost importance and not anything else, so speak his language.
Often times, I tell people to speak what the word says and I get all kinds of reactions and answers. Some say, you guys want to act like God and I nowadays I wonder what they are acting like. If you don’t act like God then you must be acting like… Listen, you will never be able to put angels to work for you if you speak words that negate the word of God. Psalms 103: 20 says, “Bless Jehovah, ye his angels, mighty in strength, that execute his word, hearkening unto the voice of his word.” They execute the word of God by hearkening unto the VOICE of his word. Notice, they hearken unto the voice of his word. So why don’t you start giving voice to God’s word instead of talking about all your shortcomings, failures, sickness, poverty etc. I think that angels are not released to minister on our behalf because of the idle words we say. It is interesting that when people talk about problems, they call it reality. Now, you must understand that some believers are poor and even sickness attack but they can get out of that by exercising their faith and talking about their victory.
I encourage not to just say anything because by your words are you justified and by your words are you condemned. It is important for us to say what we believe. Paul in 2 Cor 4:13 quoting the psalmist wrote,”… But having the same spirit of faith, according to the [word] having been written, “I believed, therefore, I spoke,” _we_ also believe, and so we speak.” This is where we miss especially after praying because we fail to start speaking what we believe and instead concentrate on the circumstances.
So I encourage you to give voice to the word of God that angels may work on your behalf. I am not talking about being an echo of some great faith preacher. No! I am talking about you settling that the word of God is true and being convinced of it, start saying it and you will progress from believing to knowing.
